Here Comes Summer!
Ok, so summer is on it's way. The heat rising from the cars, pools shrinking from evaporation, steering wheel scorching your hands, and kids home from school. What to do?
Well, I can't help with the heatstroke, but I can help the kids have a little bit of fun, not in the sun.
Bring them up to Crafty Papers, SE corner of Tatum and Thunderbird, let them get creative, and you go have some shopping time at the mall, or an early lunch with your friends.
This summer starting June 8, I will be hosting Summer Camp for Kids. Monday through Thursday from 10am to 12pm. Everyday is a new project, to name a few: door hanger, pictures frame, flip flop album, triple decker album, and many more. We also have two day projects that include a paper made hand bag, and cards to fill the bag. Towards the end of the summer we will be working on an "All About Me" album, this will be a week long project. They will decorate an album to suit themselves.
If you have any questions or would like a schedule, please email dclark17@cox.net, or call me at

Framing the Possibilities
Finally finished with the school's yearbook. YEA! Wow, that takes alot of time!!
So now, I finally have time to do some unfinished projects. I have been making frames: wood and fridge magnets, and now since school is almost out, I am working on the teacher appreciation gifts. Every year I make an album for my children's teachers, I use the pictures taken throughout the year. But trying to start up my business, working for a friend and just doing the yearbook, didn't leave me much time to spend at school this year, so I am just using the children's school portraits. I love using those little spare pictures that get sent to the school for the teachers to use on student files. They are already sticky backed so it is just a matter of adding it to the project. Easy enough!

The Book of the Year
Just trying to finish up the school yearbook. Wow, what a chore. I have 10 5th & 6th graders working on it, and so far so good. There are tons of things left to do, so hopefully it won't be too bad. It is a great time, but a lot of work. I think I am having more fun than the kids.

Starting from scratch
My entire life has been revolved around crafts. My mom ran an arts and crafts store (we won't mention the name) for about 10 years. Most of my pre-teen years, my sister and I spent alot of time there. We used to have to separate the DMC floss. UGH! What a pain. They used to pay us $10 just to do it, so they didn't have to. Anyway, we learned how to do many things, met alot of artists, and had alot of fun with the people that worked there. We made all of our friends their Christmas Presents and cards and so on. I was very disappointed when a really cool scrapbook store closed that was also affiliated with the place my mom worked for (again, we won't mention). Anyway, all the good little stores closed and we had to shop at the big retailers. I don't like the big retailers, they are messy!!!!
So, for my birthday this year, I had lunch with my mom and sister. My mom had learned there was a new scrapbook store close by and we decided to go after lunch. When we finally got there, my mom being the talker she is, started chatting away with the owner about how her house could be store, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, the owner had mentioned that she was looking for some teachers to have classes at her store. So, I went back and bought some scrapbook stuff, and started making some projects. This is the first time I will be teaching adults and I am pretty ecstatic about it.
